On the class wiki site, post your favorite new Web 2.0 tool that has not been covered in detail in this class that you have discovered in this course or elsewhere. List the URL, what the tool is, and why you find it useful using the wiki template page. No duplication allowed-each page must be an original new tool. This can be done after reviewing the Unit 9 material, which covers more Web 2.0 resources.
Prezi is cloud storage website that will create advanced presentations for you. It is a free site with a basic plan for basic features. There are upgradable services available, but all services are ad-free. It is a great way to share presentations to others, whether they are following along on their own computer or helping you with the editing. I really like Prezi and I use it in my classroom due to the advanced movements between slides. It keeps learners engaged with unique movements throughout the presentations. There are no separate sections for teachers and students, but it is a great tool to use in schools for teachers and students. I use it when presenting information. Students can use it for projects. Sometimes when students are doing a project that I don't want them to present to the entire class, but I want them to do the project in a presentation format, I have them complete it on Prezi and share it with me. The grade level appropriate for such projects, would be for high school and middle school.
Educational Uses of Site
This tool can be used in the classroom as a way to share and present new information for both students and teachers. Since it is stored on the cloud students can access it as notes anytime to study and teachers have access anytime to projects created by students.
Review of Site
Honestly, it is a little confusing at first, but I really like this website as a web 2.0 website. The reason being is that it is so customizable. You can edit the tilt on a picture, make drastic changes slide to slide to keep the learners engaged, and you can easily add pictures and embed videos. You can access it from any computer and you never have to worry about losing your work. You can easily share presentations if you want, or keep them private if you desire. I think it is a great website, once you get the hang of how creating presentations work.
